Why Are We Doing this?

Around 30% of the UK’s greenhouse emissions come from heating, making it the largest source of emissions.

Heating, currently often provided by gas or heating oil boilers, is commonly a large cause of organisation’s direct (known as “scope 1”) greenhouse gas emissions. In many cases businesses have direct control, but the systems are replaced infrequently – meaning the decisions you make now will cause or avoid emissions for many years to come!

Again it is important to reduce energy use overall first – for example ceiling fans in high ceiling buildings such as warehouses may redistribute warm air that has risen leaving the operational area too cold.
