We work closely with outdoor societies and universities. These community collaborations enable us to amplify our voice and make a bigger impact.
Uni clubs are an enthusiastic and energetic part of the POW UK community. Whether it's a uni ski club or an outdoors group, your organisation can support us by spreading our message and raising funds to support the vital work we do.
University groups often hold events to achieve those goals, such as POW UK charity night or a pub quiz. Or they raise money as part of annual ski trips and build awareness through branded kit. If your club wants to support POW we can set up a partnership that works for you. Join a growing group of fantastic uni clubs that are helping us fight the climate crisis.

Outdoor societies are a powerful channel to reach a large number of passionate outdoor people. We have a flexible approach that allows us to work with outdoor groups in a way that best suits them. For example, we partner with British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI) to deliver our Carbon Literacy Training course to their ski and snowboard instructors. BASI recognises CLT as a credit towards their members’ Continued Professional Development.
We need outdoor groups working with us so that we can reach the 25 million people who recreate in the outdoors each week. Will you help us put an end to the climate crisis?
Carbon Literacy Training is a course we offer to organisations who want their members to better understand the science behind the climate crisis. Accredited by the UN-recognised Carbon Literacy Training this course is tailored to the outdoors community, making it super relevant to your members.
What your group will gain from Carbon Literacy Training:
We campaign for policy and system change, but our campaigns are only as effective as the people who get behind them. We need your organisation to get involved and put pressure on policymakers. Our campaigns focus on renewable energy, electric transportation, green finance, and a managed decline of fossil fuel extraction.
The outdoors is great. Getting dirty is good. But while you’re out there getting dirty on your favourite trail, up a hill, or in the woods, local councils are getting your taxpayer money really dirty. Despite 75% of local UK councils declaring a climate crisis, they hold investments of nearly £10 billion in sketchy fossil fuels like BP, Exxon, and Shell. We need you to ask your local council to #DivestTheDirt and protect the places you love to get dirty.
A great way for university clubs to support POW is through fundraising. Whether it's during a campus event or as part of your uni ski trip. All money raised helps us achieve our goal of Net Zero by 2040 (link to mission and vison page).
Want your organisation to be kitted out with the latest POW UK gear? Purchase some merchandise! We receive 100% of the profits and put it straight back into our campaigns. Everything is made using environmentally friendly methods, so you can wear it knowing it's ethical.
Big ideas start small. Solving our climate crisis is no different. Start your journey to climate advocacy with our bi-weekly newsletter.
